Hegemony of Good

There is a great amount of good to be done for the US and the world. To do so the next administration will encounter the current administration's strategies for global U.S. hegemony.

There is much to be hopeful about the elected administration of the US. The increasing friction between the current U.S. administration's strategies for global U.S. hegemony and elected governments in Latin America or elsewhere and grassroots trends toward greater independence and new models will reduce.

International policy, while generally falling under the erroneous framework of doctrine, is not based on a comprehensive and careful analysis nor do it takes into account the needs of the countries themselves - in this sense even small differences could produce huge results. A U.S. foreign policy that supports, rather than counters, these greater independence initiatives and that resolutely respects the right to self-determination could bring our world into a shared community of values based on sustainable development, inclusive democracy and peace.

The hegemony of good rooted in global neighborhood principles states the first step toward being a good neighbor is to stop being a bad neighbor.

As the world's foremost power, the United States will be best served by exercising responsible global leadership and partnership rather than seeking global dominance. Problems of external adjustment are an ugly and loosely part of the agenda. External negotiation rather than confrontation favor security through non-military measures and international cooperation.

A tide of hope should support sustainable development, first at home and then abroad, through its macroeconomic trade, investment, and aid policies.
